This post may seem a little weird to some of you, but the rest of you who are on my mailing list, you’ve probably already come to to realization that I’m on this new “kick” where I just speak my mind – so you won’t find it strange at all!

So what this really means is that moving forward – some days you may get marketing tips from me, while other days you may get a post about making lots of money with me and how you can join me and team…

And other days… you may just see a post from me about why I’m doing what I do and all why any of this stuff even matters to me…

And why I think it important that it should matter to you too…

Now if you’ve been reading my blog for any period of time then you know by now that I typically don’t share too much about my personal life but today I felt the need to share some things with you guys.

So hang on tight… here we go!

There’s been some things that have been happening lately in my life that have really been making me stop and take more notice which is why you keep hearing me say that I want to help more people and change more lives…

A few months ago… literally out of the blue my fiance suddenly become seriously ill and had to have emergency surgery.

Now what’s odd is that although my guy is not a spring chicken… he’s been in pretty decent shape!

Aside from some issues with his back, he’s always been a fitness fanatic and never been more than a couple of pounds over weight – if that much.

He eats pretty healthy, works out religiously, doesn’t drink, smoke or have any other taboo habits – other than working out too much! ;o)

Yet out of the blue –  this relatively healthy man – suddenly got sick…

And we suddenly found ourselves dealing with a health crisis that included daily medications to control the issues and a series of surgeries to try to correct them.

So what’s my point?

Well the first thing I had to do was try to reschedule a lot of coaching calls and consulting clients but as the situation progressed I eventually ended up cancelling all of them.

And as I spoke to a few of them and told them why I was cancelling a few of them told me their stories of how they were in similar situations but felt “trapped” and didn’t know what they could do…

I’m gonna be honest with you…

I knew that letting go of my clients was going to cost me BIG TIME…

Because even though I started making money right away with my new business the truth of the matter is I could not replace my income quick enough.

But I was I willing to take that risk….

Because I realized that at that moment while I was sitting in the emergency room… and he was laying there with all of those wires and tubes hanging from everywhere that he needed me…

And no matter what I was going to be there for him like he had been there for me for the last 4+ years…

When my house foreclosed on…

When my car was repossessed…

And when I had no money and had no clue what I was going to do.

You see… when I saw the man that I love, the man that I plan to marry this summer just laying there with fear in his eyes…

Looking scared and worried…

And with tears streaming down his face…

I knew that I needed to be there for him.

And at that very moment in time it didn’t matter how much I was making…

Or what I was doing…

I was willing to walk away from it ALL!

And as I’ve mentioned to you guys before – the entire experience was an eye opener because it made me realize that I needed to be FREE…

FREE to do what I wanted to do when I wanted to…

FREE to travel whenever and wherever I wanted to…

FREE to live my life on my own terms without restrictions…

And although I am not totally where I want to be, within the last 4 months I have been working towards turning that dream into my reality!

Over the last couple of weeks you may not have heard from me as frequently as you normally do…

Well that’s because after I came back from a trip from Chicago we had a couple of surgeries scheduled so I have been out of the loop…

The first time he got sick it was stressful because I had clients and I had to cancel them…

This time I did not because now my business runs 24/7 on autopilot!

So even when I’m not available my business continues running and making money for us!

For example… last week when we was out of town I didn’t have internet access for an entire week yet I made money pretty much every day while I was away…

And get this…

When I returned I had money in my account waiting for me which I used to pay our car payments, insurance and utilities.

And this past friday I received another payment with enough to cover my mortgage payment!

Now the reason I have a picture of our cars is not to impress you but more so to make an impression upon you that we are not driving some broke down, busted piece of crap cars.

And trust me when I say that our car notes are not $200 a month either!

Now there’s nothing wrong with living frugally, if you want to, but there’s also nothing wrong with having nice things if you desire to have them in your life too.

You see the only difference is that I no longer want to work long, grueling hours to make money, own a nice car or live in a beautiful hour and take vacations.

And I also don’t want to stop dreaming or give up everything I’ve been working so hard for either!

That’s why now instead of working harder I’ve learned to work smarter and leverage my knowledge and time.

This is my reason WHY!

I want to LIVE and enjoy all that life has to offer - PERIOD!

I want to have a life that is free from boundaries and limitations…

And I want to share what having FREEDOM feels like with YOU if you will accept my offer…

Now in the beginning it will take you a little bit of time and quite a bit of effort to set up your life and business so that it has maximum social media efficiency…

So how do you set up these tools?

Here’s 5 simple steps that you can follow to get you going!

Step # 1: Use Google Alerts To Track Industry Keywords

If something big happens in your industry, you want to be able to comment on it immediately.

For instance, if you’re in the hard drive industry and Sony suddenly announces they’re going to slash hard drive prices by 30%, that’s something you want to know.

Google Alerts allows you to track certain keywords and get an email in case of major events.

Step # 2: Keep A List Of Ideas On You At All Times

Keep a journal on you to jot down tweet or update ideas.

Better yet, if you have a smartphone, just use your phone to jot down ideas as you go.

You can also use an app like HootSuite to schedule tweets or updates to go out in the future.

Just make sure you schedule them far enough in advance that you have time to review them at home before they go live.

Step # 3: Automatically Syndicate Blog Content

Automatically syndicate any blog post you write to your Twitter feed and your Facebook page.

There are many tools and WordPress plugins that make this easy for you.

Basically, whenever you make a new post, a shortened link is generated to your blog post.

By integrating your Twitter and/or Facebook accounts, you can post that link to your social media profile(s) in just 10 seconds.

Step # 4: Install “Buffer” For Chrome Or Firefox

Install the Buffer app, which allows you to post to your Twitter feed from within your browser.

This saves you time so you don’t have to log into Twitter or go to a website in order to post.

You can schedule tweets to go out at a future time.

You can also easily share any web page that you see with the click of a button.

Step # 5: Use Hashtracking To Tweet Visible Tags

Hashtracking makes tracking the most visible tags a piece of cake.

This service allows you to find the tags that people are talking about in your industry, so you can join in on existing discussions.

Before you post, try to find a tag related to your industry that already has people talking about it.

Be Careful What You Say

Once you have entered something on the internet, it will be there forever.

Inflammatory tweets reflect negatively on you and can come back to haunt you later.

Don’t Be Too Negative

People who are always looking on the downside crash the party.

Misery loves company but you will lose yours if you persist.

Learn To Use Hashtags Properly

Hashtags can help you and others to follow a conversation more easily.

So use them the right way and don’t put a hashtag on each word in your tweet and don’t hashtag a run-on tweet.

When people talk about viral marketing they often overlook the power of events.

Events can spread virally, just as a viral video can… don’t think it’s possible?

Take Alcoholics Anonymous for example. It was started by one man who had a religious experience that helped him quit drinking.

From there, the organization spread all over the world – one basement, cafe or conference room at a time.

Yes, spreading an event takes longer than spreading a video but it also has more longevity.

It doesn’t have to be non-profit. Take Robert Kiyosaki’s “Cashflow Game” for example.

This game is designed to teach wealth mindsets.

It works by having people all over the world create gatherings of people to play the game.

In order to play the game, they of course had to buy the game, which costs about $200.

Kiyosaki has made millions off of his “Cashflow Game” franchise which at the end of the day was successful only because he made his game events go viral all over the world.

In order for an event to go viral it needs to meet a few criteria.

If you can make your event match these criteria you have a very strong chance of going viral and here’s what you need…

Criteria #1: There Must Be Affinity Within A Community

You can’t create a viral event for everybody instead, a viral event needs to be catered towards one community specifically.

Cashflow Game was targeted towards people who wanted to quit their jobs and be financially free and Alcoholics Anonymous catered for alcoholics who needed support.

People need to feel a bond towards the event you’re creating.

They need to feel like they’re in it together with you and with the other members of the community.

That’ll make them naturally want to spread the event.

Criteria #2: It Must Be Replicable

The event must be replicable by people who aren’t connected to you.

Bill Wilson, founder of AA, does not need to instruct ever AA branch leader about how to run their meetings.

Robert Kiyosaki does not need to instruct group leaders of Cashflow Game on how to run their groups.

If you need to be at an event in order for it to work, it simply can’t go viral.

On the other hand, if people can create their own events without needing to turn to you for help, then you have a great chance of going viral.

Your job is to encourage others to take this initiative.

Criteria #3: It Must Solve A Unique Problem

Your event needs to be the best solution there is to a specific problem.

If AA was only mediocre at helping people quit drinking, it wouldn’t have spread.

If Cashflow Game didn’t teach unique concepts and principles, it wouldn’t have spread.

If your event is really the best solution for a specific problem, people will naturally want to spread that event.

People will create their own chapters and draw others into your community.

Creating a viral event is quite a bit more difficult than creating a viral video.

However if you succeed in creating a viral event you won’t just have one piece of content that went viral – you’ll have a whole organization.

Well you can by creating buzz and instead of using money to create awareness, you use word of mouth to generate awareness.

And guess what???? It doesn’t have to cost you a dime!

Ready to get started? Here are a few ways to create buzz for your small business.

Way #1: Feature A Big Name

Can you get a big name on an interview? Well if so then you can generate a lot of buzz.

Go to national networking events in your industry to meet well-known individuals and see if they’d be willing to be interviewed.

One great example of this is the Learning Annex.

Before landing Donald Trump as a guest speaker they were earning less than $1 million a year.

The Learning Annex’s founder took a big bet when he offered Trump $1 million dollars to speak and that day they packed more than 10,000 in the audience when they’d never had more than 2,000 before.

Today they have many millions every year!

Way # 2: Appear On A Radio Show

Come up with a controversial topic or stance and market yourself to radio show hosts.

Post an ad in the Radio Television Interview Report (RTIR), the main place where show hosts go to look for experts.

Call up local stations and offer to be interviewed about whatever topic you want.

The spicier you can make whatever it is you’re seeking publicity for, the better. Try to come up with an exciting angle.

Way # 3: Throw A Party Or Event

In Silicon Valley there’s a small start-up whose founder knows just about every big name in the valley.

This CEO isn’t a millionaire, yet he knows many of the millionaires in the area.

How does he do it? Well it’s simple! Twice a year he throws a giant boat party and invites all the biggest names in Silicon Valley.

The big names come because they know the other big names will be there.

By being the organizer, he generates a lot of buzz for his company and generates a lot of connections.

So how can you do something similar in your industry?

How can you throw a unique party or event that’ll get people talking?

Well another example is Google. They do it by having big name bands come and play for their staff.

Now of course you can also do it without spending a lot of money just by getting creative but these are just a few ways you can create buzz around your small business.

Generating buzz takes a bit of creativity, but it also takes the willingness to act and put yourself out there.

Come up with a few different ideas and take action on the most audacious ones. Those are often the most likely to succeed.
