More and more individuals and businesses are adopting videos as a way to grow their clientele and communicate with their existing customer bases.
Since broadband has risen and technologies has become more sophisticated, online video marketing, even for the average person, has really taken on a life of it’s on!
With video marketing, you can capture’s your audience’s attention a lot easier because you’ll immediately stand out from the crowd in this increasingly ad-cluttered online environment.
A few years ago, video marketing use to be too expensive to produce and implement, but in today’s society sometimes the simpler and less technical the video appears – the better your chances are of getting it in front of your target audience and actually going viral!
When trying to maximize the effects of your videos, there are a few things to take into consideration.
Just like any other form of marketing, there are both good and bad ways to promote your videos.
Right now most marketers are incorporating their video content into existing embedded ad formats like banners or over-content formats like pop-ups.
Though this could reach a potentially larger audience, viewers are less likely to be captivated by this “in your face” type of marketing.
And to be quite honest, they more than likely will be annoyed by these disruptive and distracting placements.
Cached or streaming video on a specific, designated site offers the best chance of interesting clients because it allows you to tie in your video to an ongoing branded message and/or campaign.
The only downfall with going this route is that the chances are you’re unlikely to reach a large audience unless it somehow catches on and generates a viral outcome.
Whatever you come up with, don’t forget to make it easy to open and distribute.
File size is important, as is the media format.
If your viral video has been created for a particular type of software that not many people use, how will you get people to spread it like wildfire?
Use something simple that most people use like YouTube.
Also, if you’ve made a video the impact will be better if you send the clip as an attachment rather than stream it.
It’s cheaper and, if you’re not hosting it, you have an increased change that it will go viral too!
Do you use video marketing in your business?
Have an awesome day!

Yes great stuff Pam, The biggest mistake people make is to have a video that takes forever to load. It drives me crazy, I will normally pack up and go somewhere else.

Hi Rob,
Yeah! I agree. That’s a pet peeve of mines too. One of the things I have to start doing is increase my videos. You know – practice what I preach!
Thanks for dropping by!
Pam

Kareem – Thanks for dropping by! Great blog. I can tell you’ve put a lot of work into it. Let me know if I can be of any assistance to you in the future. Pam
Hi Pam,
Some good points made here particularly about capturing your audience in the first 3 seconds. I’d add that you should never have your youtube videos set to autoplay, it is a real turn off to be assaulted by noise or video as soon as you land on a site, even worse when it happen everytime you land on a page for a return visit even if you enjoyed the first visit.
Our site has many tips so do visit and we are happy to give advice to individuals thinking of getting into video!
Hi Jonathan!
I agree. That’s extremely annoying! I also don’t like when people have music on their website. I immediately leave!
Thanks so much for the great feedback!
Pam
Hey Pam!
You’re so on point. Video is becoming more and more critical when in comes to connecting with your target audience via social media.
Great points you make here. I’d add that make sure you say your most important point immediately. You have 3 seconds to capture your audiences attention.
Don’t blow it!
Hi Marlee!
Thanks so much for dropping by. I think that’s a great tip and one that I will use. I have used article marketing for so long but I said that in 2012 I was going to really start reeving up my video marketing so it’s time that I start taking my own advice!
Looking forward to networking with you!
Pam
